Illumizoo Returns to John Ball Zoo in 2022

IllumiZoo, an illuminated nighttime journey through John Ball Zoo is running Wednesday through Saturday nights now through Nov. 30, 2022.

This year's theme is "Living Lights". Interactive light and sound displays throughout the zoo will highlight the amazing world of bioluminescent species.

Through vibrant lights and sounds, guests are invited to "enjoy the wonders of living creatures that light up the night and the dark waters."

While you won’t be able to see the zoo animals on the one mile walk, it sounds like there will be plenty to take in! Check out photos from different IllumiZoo events at John Ball Zoo through the years in he gallery below.

There's also specialty gift shop items, black light face painting, and special illuminated adult beverages!

Special Music-Themed Nights at John Ball Zoo's IllumiZoo

Wednesday nights during IllumiZoo are special, music-themed nights called "Way Back Wednesdays.

Here's the schedule for 2022:

• 60s Motown Night - October 5
• 70s Disco Night - October 12
• 80s Rock n' Roll Night - November 2
• 90s Pop Night - November 9

How to Get Tickets for IllumiZoo

If you're interested in a magical night out at John Ball Zoo, you're highly encouraged to get your tickets to IllumiZoo ahead of time.

You can reserve your spot on the zoo’s website. For members, tickets are $18 for adult, $14 for youth. For nonmembers, tickets are $22 for adults and $18 for youth.
