Kayak for Free in Grand Rapids This Summer
Have fun with the fam on the Grand River this summer! Family Paddle Nights are returning to Riverside Park in 2023.
Free Kayak Events at Riverside Park
The City of Grand Rapids is hosting free kayaking events in conjunction with Food Truck Fridays.
The Family Paddle Nights are 5p.m. to 8:30p.m. June 9, June 23, and August 25.
What to Expect at Family Paddle Nights
Free 20-minute kayak rides are available throughout the evening. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All paddling activities will remain in Riverside Park Lagoon. All equipment is provided and a lifeguard will be on site.
Food trucks will also be at Riverside Park as part of Food Truck Fridays.
All kayakers must be age ten and up. Kayakers ages ten through sixteen must be accompanied by an adult. Paddlers of all abilities are welcome.
You're also welcome to bring your own kayaks, paddle boards or canoes to the lagoon.
