Beer City USA Who? Move Over, Cider Week Is Taking Over West Michigan’s Taps

Grand Rapids has been known as Beer City, USA for over a decade. But, if you're only trying our amazing locally crafted beers, you're forgetting one of the other strengths we have... Our Ciders made with sweet, delicious Michigan apples.

Get ready for 9 full days of cider celebration in West Michigan! The Michigan Cider Association will highlight the summer favorite from May 10-18 during Cider Week, presented in partnership with Experience Grand Rapids. Enjoy public events, tap takeovers, and the Michigan Cider Fest.

Craft cider-makers from across the nation select Michigan apples for their brews, making West Michigan the ultimate destination for this cider celebration.

During the week, you'll be able to visit several places for tap takeovers including Thornapple Brewing and the Corner Bar in Rockford. These tap takeovers promise some unique pours from Tandem Ciders of Suttons Bay, MI and some really tasty sounding "cider cocktails" including a Cider Mai Tai and more.

Maybe Karaoke is more of your style... on May 14th you'll be able to sing your heart out at Cider-oke which will be held at Z's Restaurant and Bar, who will be giving you a sip of the new Vandermill Cider pour, Honeycrisp.

The entire week will then wrap up on May 18th at Rosa Park Circle (rain or shine) with a huge tasting event. Some of your favorite food trucks will be serving up dinner, and you can try one of 10 Michigan Craft Cider Samples, and you'll get to take home a commemorative glass to remember the week.
