JW Marriott in Grand Rapids Reopening July 1, Patio Now Open to Public
One of Downtown Grand Rapids' main hotels will be lively once again this summer.
Since closing at the beginning of April, JW Marriott says they'll be reopening on July 1 and are accepting overnight reservations now. The 23-story hotel operates 337 rooms.
While guests have to wait before staying a night at JW, as of Thursday the 18th, the hotel opened their patio, jdeck to the public. Which is exciting news considering the jdek is one of the city's prime locations. Sitting on a patio overlooking the river while day drinking? Sounds like a great summer day to me.
Reservations must be made for patio seating. Since indoor seating isn't currently open, reservations might be cancelled due to bad weather. The jdek's hours are Thursday-Saturday 12p-8p and Sunday 11a-7p.
JW's French restaurant, Margaux, will open on July 15.
JW Marriott is owned by AHC Hospitality which also runs AC Hotel and Courtyard by Marriott. AHC says they don't have an exact date as to when the other two hotels will reopen but they're hoping "later this summer," says MLive. Other than its restaurants, the Amway Grand Plaza has remained open throughout the pandemic.
