Kamaiyah Pays Tribute to TLC in Uplifting ‘Build You Up’ Video [WATCH]

If you are feeling down in the dumps, Kamaiyah’s new video for “Build You Up” is a great pick-me-up. The visual is full of ‘90s nostalgia as the Bay Area native and her dancers pay homage to TLC with their colorful outfits and throwback dance routines.

In the clip, directed by Van White, Kamaiyah spots a young girl who looks like her spirit has been broken and invites her to a party. The video also shows the 2017 XXL Freshman alumni spitting positive words of encouragement behind a fleet of vintage BMW vehicles. “You don’t need no one / You got to love yourself / ‘Cause when you get real love, you don’t need nobody else,” she raps.

On Thursday (July 6), Kamaiyah went on her Twitter account to let her fans know that she was paying homage to TLC in the video. T-Boz saw the tweet and showed love to YG's protege.
