After a little over a year in business, Kingma's Market in Ada is closing.

According to Wood TV 8, the owners announced that the closure will happen in the next few weeks, though no specific date was given.

Kingma's in Ada opened in the fall of 2017 on Ada Drive SE, a sister store to the location on Plainfield Ave. NE in Grand Rapids.

The market, according to its website, carried Michigan made fresh produce, local meats, seafood from Fish Lads, Rowster Coffee, and more than 500 local craft and imported beers.

Wood TV 8 reports that owner Alan Hartline said in a statement the company realized its "niche … is to serve customers in a smaller, more dense and walkable area, in a scaled-down site."
