A Sterling Heights officer stayed calm in the midst of chaos and was able to apply his training to save a three month old child.

A dash cam on Officer Cameron Maciejewski's cruiser caught the quick thinking actions of the officer as he was the first on the scene and was rushed by the baby's family.

The Sterling Heights Fire Department then transported the baby to the hospital where it was evaluated and returned home.

"If it wasn’t for Officer Maciejewski’s quick, calm, lifesaving actions, the outcome of this incident could have been tragically different," the department said in a statement. "Not only did the officer save the baby, but the officer did an outstanding job consoling the family."
