Michigan Secretary of State Closes Offices in Lower Peninsula
Late this morning, the Michigan Secretary of State announced that all Secretary of State offices in the Lower Peninsula have closed for the remainder of the day today, January 28.
The announcement follows the closure of state government due to severe weather conditions.
All are advised to check weather and news reports on Tuesday before heading to a Secretary of State office to see if the offices have reopened.
All appointments or hearings scheduled for Monday, Jan. 28, have been adjourned. People who have appointments or hearings Tuesday, Jan. 29, should check before heading out. If the state is closed at the time of the appointment, the hearing will be adjourned to another day.
Most people renewing license plates, driver’s licenses and ID cards can do so online or by mail.
