Michigan State Rep. Who Did Not Denounce Violence Disciplined
One Michigan lawmaker refused to denounce violence at the state capitol for possible protests against the electoral vote for the 2020 presidential election.
In all my years I have never seen such nonsense in a presidential election. What really surprises me is that some politicians are okay with violence and threats whether it's against members of the Michigan government or voters in the state.
According to WOOD, Republican lawmaker Gary Eisen of St. Clair Township says he was planning to help challenge the presidential election with an unspecified "Hail Mary" but in doing so couldn't guarantee people's safety at the state capital.
Republicans Lett Chatfield and Jason Wentworth had to remove Eisen from committees as punishment for not denouncing threats or suggestions of violence.
Michigan's Capitol building and neighboring offices had to be closed to the public today because of credible threats of violence directed toward Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the 16 electors that are meeting today to enter their votes for the presidential election.
Monday is the day across the country where its Electoral College casts the people's vote to officially announce Joe Biden's win over President Donald Trump.
Several Republican lawmakers in Michigan and around the country have tried to change the results of this year's presidential election to no avail by making baseless claims of election fraud just because they are unhappy with the results.
As in other states, Michigan's Republican leaders have said the state has followed the law and has granted the will of the public vote and certified Biden's win of nearly 155,000 more votes than Trump.
Once Biden is certified later today as the winner of the 2020 presidential election after all the electoral votes are in the country can move on and focus on what is really in front of us all and that is the pandemic, vaccine distribution and getting the economy back on its feet.
