Michigan Woman Dies While In Montcalm County Jail
You would think that when you are incarcerated, aside from the other inmates, you would be in a pretty safe place but that was not the case for a woman from Big Rapids Michigan.
According to WOOD, Sheriff Mike Williams from the Montcalm County sheriff's department has asked for an outside group for help determining the exact cause of the woman's death while locked up in the Montcalm County jail.
Sheriff Mike Williams said, "34-year-old Amber Lynae Bills was found unresponsive in her jail cell sunday. Corrections officers immediately administered CPR and called for medical help but they could not revive her."
The medical examiner report is still not complete but so far it has revealed that Bills had an undiagnosed perforated ulcer that no one was aware of. The final medical report is still pending.
Authorities say Bills was arrested for not having an operator's license and two contempt of court charges is why she was incarcerated.
