Nas and Kelis Reach Custody Agreement in Ongoing Legal Battle
Nas and Kelis have finally reached a custody agreement in their ongoing legal battle over their son, Knight Jones.
According to TMZ, Nas and Kelis have agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their 8-year-old child. The new schedule breaks down as such: Knight will spend Father’s Day with his dad and Mother’s Day with his mother. He will also celebrate odd birthdays with Kelis and even birthdays with Nas.
Although they have reached a compromise on who gets custody during the holidays, it appears they haven't settled on child support. Kelis is currently getting $8,000 per month but she says that isn't cutting it any more. According to documents, the singer-turned-chef says Knight has different needs than he did back when the original support order was established five years ago.
Plus, Nas is doing much better financially now so he should ante up a few more dollars. Kelis is seeking 50 percent more for school-related costs, child care and unreimbursed healthcare.
The pair's legal battle did get a little messy with Nas' lawyer allegedly calling Kelis' attorney a "fattie" and also a "dick." Kelis said the name-calling is going to cost Nas.
Hopefully, the couple can officially end their legal battle so they both can go their separate ways and focus on raising their son, Knight.
