After coming back from a week in Amsterdam, Netherlands, it is time to experience a vacation in Michigan.

I searched on our happy friend, Google, to figure out where my next adventure would be. However, it needs to be budget friendly because Amsterdam was not cheap.

Here are the 4 places you can visit for a budget-friendly vacation before school starts.

If you want to experience breathtaking scenery in Michigan, Tahquamenon Falls should definitely be on your list. You can visit Tahquamenon Falls State Park year round, however, if you are not a fan of the cold, I highly recommend going during this time of year. Plus, it does not hurt that the price to enter the park is in the single digits. To gain access to the park for Michigan residents is only $6. For non-residents, it is only $2 dollars more.

Belle Isle

Taking a little trip to Detroit, add Belle Isle to your list of places to visit while you are there. Belle Isle also has a free aquarium so it is perfect for the entire family. You can visit the island park using the state park passport. The passport is only $11 per year and gives access to all of Michigan's state parks.

Frankenmuth

"Little Bavaria" or Frankenmuth is known for its year-round German festivities. You might be familiar with the world's largest Christmas store, Bronner's Christmas Wonderland. Throughout the year, Frankenmuth also hosts an annual beer festival, Oktoberfest, and a music festival. You can stay at Frankenmuth Motel for a starting rate of $55.

Hiawatha National Forest

Want to travel to Upper Peninsula? Hiawatha National Forest is a hiker's dream place to visit. Besides the beautiful hiking trails, you can visit the lighthouses, different historical sites, and beaches on Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. For a budget-friendly trip, prices at Tom's Lake Cabin start around $45 a night. However, those dates book up quickly.
