Dragon Trail in Newaygo County

If you are unfamiliar with the Dragon Trail, it's a bike and hiking trail that will eventually wrap all the way around the Hardy Pond in Newaygo County. The project began in 2019 and eventually will be a total of 47 miles when completed.

My son and I have personally been using one section of the Dragon Trail and it's absolutely beautiful for biking or hiking. Sometimes you pass by the Hardy Pond, other times you are heading down winding trails in the forest that surrounds the water.

After three more bridges are completed for the next 10 miles of the Dragon Trail, the plan is to start the final two projects in 2023. One of the projects will be a section of the trail so those with disabilities have wheelchair access.  There will be handicapped parking at the trailhead.
