Four days after being arrested for a slew of federal sex crime charges, R. Kelly will remain behind bars without bond for his case in Chicago.

According to TMZ's report about the Tuesday (July 16) hearing for the case, prosecutors argued that Kelly is a danger to the community and the risk of obstruction is too great for him to be granted bond and released. They said that Kelly's fame and power only heightened the risk and that he has the "unique ability to influence and intimidate witnesses and victims, and that continues to this day."

As previously reported, R. Kelly was arrested on federal sex crime charges on July 11, following the discovery of 20 additional sex tapes reportedly showing the singer with underage girls. For this case, Kelly has been charged with 13 counts, including child pornography, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice.

Kelly pled not guilty to the charges, and his lawyer, Steve Greenberg, attempted to keep his client out of jail. Greenberg argued that Kelly has already surrendered his passport, does not like flying and has yet to miss a court date, so he would not be a flight risk. He also made mention of Kelly's alleged money troubles.

"How could he flee? He has no money," Greenberg said in court.

As for the direct allegations, Greenberg added that "there's no evidence that he's a risk to minors at all at this point."

Ultimately, the judge said that the charge of child pornography comes with a "presumption of detention," and ordered Kelly be held in jail without bond.

This news arrives after prosecutors in the Eastern District of New York indicted R. Kelly  for racketeering, kidnapping, forced labor and sexual exploitation of a child last week. He pleaded not guilty in court for those charges last Friday.
