R. Kelly Addresses Sex Cult Accusations on New 19-Minute Song “I Admit”
In recent months, R. Kelly has seen his music removed from Spotify playlists and his concerts canceled. Now, the Chicago crooner is opening up about his life, as well as the rumors and allegations on a new 19-minute song titled "I Admit." Uploaded to Instagram TV on Monday (July 23), the song finds the singer discussing sleeping with younger women and denying claims of a sex cult.
In the sixth verse of "I Admit," R. Kelly questions the allegations of a sex cult, singing, "Said I'm abusing these women, what the fuck that's some absurd shit (what?)/They're brainwashed, really? (really)/Kidnapped, really? (really)/Can't eat, really? (really)/Real talk, that shit sound silly (yeah)."
The singer also details how he met one of the women he's been with, revealing the woman's father brought her to his show. "And if you really, really wanna know (know)/Her father dropped her off at my show (show)/And told this boy to put her on stage (yeah)/I admit that she was over age (age)/I admit that I was feelin' her and I admit that she was feelin' me (she was feelin' me)," he sings.
During the song's fifth verse, Kelly admits to sleeping with younger women but says he's not a pedophile. "I admit I fuck with all the ladies, that's both older and young ladies (ladies, yeah)/But tell me how they call it pedophile because that shit is crazy (crazy)/You may have your opinions, entitled to your opinions (opinions)/But really am I supposed to go to jail or lose my career because of your opinion," he croons.
The R&B legend also touches on his struggles with illiteracy and reveals some news about himself, admitting he was sexually assaulted as a child. "Now, I admit a family member touched me (touched me, touched me, touched me)/From a child to the age 14, yeah/While I laid asleep, took my virginity/So scared to say something, so I just put the blame on me," Kelly sings.
