Nobody actually thought R. Kelly would perform at Donald Trump's inauguration, but that didn't stop Kells from squashing all those pesky "rumors."

The Chicago singer went on Twitter today (Jan. 13) and posted, "Despite the rumors circulating online, R. Kelly will not be performing at this year's inauguration ceremony. Any reports stating otherwise are simply untrue." For good measure, the "Ignition" artist added the caption, "End. Of. Story."

Although nobody was saying R. Kelly would perform at Trump's ceremony, some people think today's tweet confirms some actual rumors about Kells. Notice the yellow background used in the tweet's artwork, and notice the four words spelled in red: "Rumors Online Not Untrue."

Whoever's in charge of R. Kelly's Twitter account might be clowning him, or, more likely, it's just a dumb coincidence. In music-related news, you can check out R. Kelly's 12 Nights of Christmas album, which he dropped in December.

Over the summer, the "I Believe I Can Fly" entertainer got dragged on social media for wanting to marry his 19-year-old girlfriend, Halle Calhoun. Of course, it’s not uncommon for older men to marry younger women. However, the situation is a bit different when R. Kelly is the groom. The Chicago native’s, ahem, questionable behavior when it comes to underage girls is well-documented.
