Law enforcement officials in Raleigh, N.C. are very disappointed after it was revealed employees at a local restaurant sang N.W.A.'s "Fuck Tha Police" when officers stopped through to get some grub, Raleigh's local ABC affiliate reports. Apparently, even the manager joined in on the action.

"Thank you Smithfield's Chicken & Barbeque Jones Sausage location for the class and professionalism as you sang 'F— the Police' as my brothers at Raleigh Police Department attempted to eat at your restaurant," reads a Facebook post from the Raleigh Police Protective Association (RPPA). "The manager sang along as well. Do you really feel that was appropriate?"

In the days following the RPPA's initial complaint, their post has gone viral and been shared over 2,000 times. Unsurprisingly, the organization demands the employees in question get disciplinary action.

"Police officers go out there every day and they risk their lives and to be treated with such disrespect is truly unfortunate," Rick Armstrong with RPPA said, before going on to say the workers should be faced with "suspension and/or including termination."

David Harris, who owns the Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q in question, responded just hours after the RPPA's post. "We will do a thorough investigation and terminate anyone employed that doesn't share our respect of all law enforcement," he said in his own Facebook post on the group's wall.

"Fuck Tha Police," which is a cut from N.W.A.'s seminal Straight Outta Compton album, became a sort of rallying cry against police brutality shortly after it was released almost 30 years ago. Although the issues the song describes are seemingly more out in the open than ever, it still strikes a chord with people across the U.S.

It doesn't appear this issue's been resolved yet, but the RPPA did say they appreciated Harris' "quick response" and that they were "going to have to wait and see what he does, and hopefully, he follows up with appropriate action on these employees."
