Check your freezer before you dig into that ice cream.

Meijer Purple Cow brand Orange Cream Bars are being recalled due to listeria concerns. The FDA reports that the New York-based company, Fieldbrook Foods Corporation, has pulled 320 cases of the ice cream which was sold at Meijer stores around the country, including Michigan. The box contains 12 ice cream bars and has a "best by" date of November 30, 2018.

While no illnesses have been reported, the company pulled the product after routine testing in the production lot contained listeria.

Some Listeria symptoms include fever, nasuea, headache, and diarrhea and normally are short-lived. However, listeria can be especially dangerous to young kids, pregnant women, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

The company advises anyone who bought the ice cream to throw it out or return it to Meijer for a full refund. You can contact them at 1 800.333.0805 x2270 if you have any questions or concerns.
