State Boys Involved in Chase in Montcalm Co.

Sunday morning in Montcalm County, Michigan, was no ordinary Sunday when Michigan State Police were involved in a chase that led to an arrest before church started.

According to FOX 17, just past 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, Michigan State Police were notified of an armed robbery at a residence in the 7400 block of South Blackmer Road. Apparently a 32-year-old man from Illinois arrived to purchase a dog but then an argument broke out between the man and the home owner. The suspect fired several shots at the homeowner who then grabbed rifle and fired back at the suspect.

In the heat of the moment the suspect grabbed the dog and took off in his vehicle. Troopers caught up with the suspect and tried to stop him but he took off on M-57. State boys chased the man who was driving a Chrysler 300 through the city of Greenville where the suspect drove into oncoming traffic to try an elude police.

The police chase ended when the vehicle was unable to drive anymore on Maplewood Drive just south of M-57 in Greenville. The suspect was arrested and the dog safely recovered unharmed.
