We had a little of it all this weekend in Grand Rapids: rain, freezing rain, snow and sleet.

But we never got "Murdersleet" did we?

There was a time Saturday afternoon when I came out of the Meijer at Knapp's Corners when the sleet was pelting my face so hard it felt like rock salt fired out of a shotgun, but it would be hard to qualify that as 'Murdersleet'.

So what is 'Murdersleet'? It's the brain child of an over hyperbolic writer for the Sunday Sport tabloid in London who referred to a recent storm as 'Murdersleet'.

According to this, Murdersleet is the size of Duck Eggs and very common in Canada. I'm willing to believe that sleet can crush cars, but it's very hard.
