These West Michigan Stores Will NOT Be Open on Thanksgiving [UPDATED]
In the past few years more and more stores have made the decision to open on Thanksgiving but there are many who stand firmly that the holiday is meant to be celebrated at home with family... not at the mall.
With that being said, if you're already thinking about shopping on Thanksgiving so you can avoid Black Friday-craziness, these are the stores that will NOT be open in West Michigan:
- Ace Hardware
- Babies R Us
- Burlington Coat Factory
- Costco
- DSW
- Ethan Allen Furniture
- Guitar Center
- H&M
- Harbor Freight Tools
- Hobby Lobby
- Home Depot
- HomeGoods
- JOANN Fabric
- Jos. A. Bank
- Lowe's
- Marshalls
- Mattress Firm
- Nordstrom
- Office Depot/Max
- Party City
- Petco
- PetSmart
- Pier 1 Imports
- Sam's Club
- Sprint
- Staples
- Sur La Table
- TJ Maxx
- Tractor Supply
- West Marine
- World Market
We are still over a month away from Thanksgiving which means more businesses are expected to make the announcement that they will remain closed.
Even though there are many stores who are making the decision to open on the holiday, most Americans aren't completely on board with it. BestBlackFriday.com surveyed over 500 people over a 2-day period (9.26-9.27) and found that almost 58% of people said they do not like stores being open on Thanksgiving while only 16% liked it.
Since many doorbuster deals can also be found online, the number of people expected to shop on the holiday is expected to go down this year.
