Two Longtime Grand Rapids Restaurants Are Closing For Good
Two more restaurants in the Grand Rapids area have announced they are shutting their doors for good.
Rinaldi's Pizza and Sub Shop has announced they are permanently closing their location at 966 Fulton Street East after decades in business. The pizza joint shared the news on Facebook saying their final day in business will be Saturday, April 10th. Rinaldi's Pizza on Plainfield will remain open. According to their website, they also have a location in Marne.
Osta's Lebanese Cuisine has also announced they are shutting down after twenty-eight years in business. The restaurant is located at 2228 Wealthy St SE in East Grand Rapids.
In an announcement to Facebook, they say the closure is due to repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The announcements come as Michigan is reporting has the highest number of new COVID cases in the nation, the highest case rate in the last week, and the highest number of adults in ICU beds for COVID-19. On Friday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer held a press conference in which she urged residents to take a two week pause from dining inside at restaurants, youth sports, and in-person high school due to COVID-19. Whitmer is not ordering these new restrictions, but instead asking for voluntary compliance.
