Police are investigating a double murder that occurred Friday afternoon in Barry County.

Wood TV 8 reports that the shootings happened around 3p.m. between Martin and Delton in the area of Lewis and Lindsey roads in Orangeville Township.

According to the Barry County Sheriff's Office two men were shot and killed, one in a residence and one by the road.

Passers-by spotted a man bleeding in a ditch. When they tried to help, a man holding a pink handgun approached them.

David Harrison, who lives about two miles from the incident, told Wood TV 8, “He pointed a gun in our face and told us to get going."

Another man, Jason Wyatt,  says the gunman approached him as well, “He walked up to my window and put his gun in my face and told me that I need to leave. I tried seeing if I could help again, and then he got more agitated and put a gun closer toward me and told me that we had to get out of there."

The men called 911 and tried to keep other people from entering the area.

They say it was a scary situation and they are grateful to be alive.

Police say the shooter is in custody and there is no threat to the public.

The names of the victims or the shooter have not yet been released.
