What a feat of accomplishment. Just over 20 years ago Tyler Perry was homeless living out of his car. Now he owns Real Estate and his own studios on the site of a former Confederate Military Base. Will Smith reflects on the honor of his name being place in history.

Tyler Perry Studios opened its newest location in southwest Atlanta; it officially moved into 330 acres of the former Fort McPherson complex purchased in 2015. The 330-acre studio has 50,000 square feet of standing permanent sets, including a replica of a luxury hotel lobby, a replica of the White House, a 16,000-square-foot mansion, a cheap hotel, trailer park set, and a 1950s-style diner that he trucked in from a town 100 miles away. It also hosts 12 soundstages named after highly accomplished African-Americans in the entertainment industry including Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, Harry Belafonte, Diahann Carroll, John Singleton, Della Reese, Sir Sidney Poitier, Cecily Tyson, Spike Lee, Halle Berry, Whoopi Goldberg and Denzel Washington.
