Lights, Camera, Rock 'n' Roll: The Music Photography of Paul Jendrasiak

This is an exhibition of concert photographs taken by local photographer Paul Jendrasiak over the last 30 years. The photos feature images of Paul McCartney, KISS, Aerosmith, Taylor Swift, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Elton John, ZZ Top, Kid Rock, Snoop Dogg and many others from the biggest concerts in West Michigan at venues like the Van Andel Aren, 20 Monroe Live, The Intersection and Kalamazoo State Theatre.

Food Truck Fridays at Riverside Park

Celebrating their 3rd year at Riverside, Food Truck Fridays are back with more food truck action. Food Truck Fridays will be held through September. This year during the hot summer months they will be setting up in a new location to offer more shade. It will still be off the Guild St. entrance, but will require less of a walk to the trucks. They will start the season as usual near the disc golf course. All trucks in attendance take credit cards. Most trucks offer Vegan options and some Gluten Free option. The event is family friendly so bring a blanket and your pet, and enjoy the food and company.

It’s another FANomenal Friday with Kids themed giveaways, a Kids "Happy Hour" from 5:45-6:45 pm, Free Meijer Hometown Playground Inflatables, Half-off hot dogs and 16oz. soda (for kids only), and Mascot Autographs in the 7th-9th inning. This Friday night is Harry Potter Night. On Saturday it will be Star Wars Night. The fan favorite of the year is back again! Star Wars characters will roam the ballpark for photos during the incredible event. Stick around after the game as they light up the sky with a spectacular fireworks show! On Sunday, it will be Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Family Day. The first 1,000 kids eat free! Also get autographs and play catch on the field before the game and Kids Run the Bases after the game.

Free Kids Fishing Derby

Kids ages 3-13 years old are invited to a completely free fishing derby at the 2.5 acre pond at the Whistlestop Park in Byron Center Township. The first 100 kids will receive a free Zebco Rod and Reel combo to keep. Experienced fishermen and women from the Grand Rapids Steelheaders organization and the West Michigan Walleye Club, will be present to instruct and assist junior anglers bait their hooks, and celebrate their catches. They have EVERYTHING that they may need to fish. Kids are encouraged to bring their own poles. If they do not have a pole, they have plenty for them to borrow.
