According to The Workforce Institute at Kronos Inc., an estimated 17 million people would be skipping work today because of the Super Bowl.  The data company has estimated sick days due to the Super Bowl about a half dozen times since 2005 and this year they had their highest estimate yet, with 17.2 million possibly not showing up to work today.

Just to put that into perspective, about 157 million adults are in the labor force in the United States, so just over 10% of the workforce will be calling in today.

I wanted to put these numbers to the test with my own little poll...  So, did you call into work today?
