However, a few people did not receive a good night's sleep due to their bed breaking and injuring them.

Now, there is a massive bed recall in effect.

What Is This Bed Recall in Michigan?

On Thursday, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall for more than half a million beds from the company, Home Design, Inc.

The reason is that the beds have been found to break or collapse if people use them.

In the official press release, CPSC shared that,

"The recalled beds can break, sag or collapse during use, posing fall and injury hazards to consumers."

They have received 128 reports of the beds breaking, sagging, or collapsing. Due to this, there have been 38 injuries.

What beds are included in the recall?

  • Home Design Part No. 80002: Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Standard Beds
    • Available in twin, full, queen, and king sizes.

  • Home Design Part No. 80032: Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Standard Bed
    • Gray or beige bed frame with standard supports requiring a box spring.
    • Available in twin, full, queen, and king sizes.

    • Silver gray, gray, or black bed frame with standard supports requiring a box spring.
    • Available in king size.

    • Warm gray bed frame with platform supports which do not require a box spring. This part does not have a center support leg halfway along the side rail.
  • Home Design Part No. 80071: Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Platform Beds
    • Gray, beige, or black bed frame with platform supports not requiring a box spring.
    • Available in twin, full, queen, or king sizes.

What You Should Do?

The company is asking all customers to stop using the recalled beds and contact Home Design Inc. for a free repair kit.

In order to register for a refund, you have to email Home Design, Inc. at recall@homedesign-us.com and provide the following:

  • A photo of the bed or a copy of the proof of purchase
  • A photo of the law label on the back of the headrest
  • Your name and mailing address

Once Home Design, Inc. has confirmed that you have one of the recalled beds, the company will send you a repair kit free of charge.
