Celebrate The Black Experience At The Grand Rapids Planetarium
Do you need an event to attend on May 2nd?
I have an event for you!
A VIP Night At The Museum: Celebrating The Black Experience
On Thursday, May 2nd, Muse GR is hosting another very necessary event that all of Grand Rapids should attend if you can.
In partnership with the Grand Rapids Public Museum, the Grand Rapids African American Museum & Archives, and the Nia Centre, 'A VIP Night At The Museum: Celebrating The Black Experience' is an immersive audio exhibit that will strive to highlight the Black experience through a social justice lens.
How is it an audio exhibit?
At the event, local artists' music will be featured during the event. Plus, the visuals will be projected to play in the planetarium dome.
The visuals will display and reflect the diverse cultural narratives and historical artifacts provided by the GRAAMA.
In addition to all of that, the event will also be showcasing an album titled 'God's Gumbo,' which was curated and executive produced by Muse GR's very own, Stephen Smith.
From 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, you will be able to experience something bigger than us all at the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.
If you want to come on theme for the event, you can wear anything monochromatic. However, it is not something to stress over if you cannot come in the theme.
You can buy tickets on Eventbrite or you can donate right now.
