Bowl Games: Michigan Plays Florida (Again), Michigan State Gets Crack At Oregon
Following yesterday's Bowl Selection Show on CBS, four Michigan teams are headed to bowl games over the holiday season.
Here's where your favorite Michigan school will be playing this bowl season:
Michigan (10-2): Peach Bowl, Atlanta GA, Saturday December 29, noon vs. Florida
The 7th ranked Wolverines get a rematch with Florida, who they last played in the season opener a year ago, winning 33-17. They also played in the 2016 Citrus Bowl, with Michigan winning 41-7. They are 4-0 all time vs. Florida.
Rashon Gary, a defensive end for the team has announced his intention to move on to the NFL next season and has already said he won't play in the team's bowl game, others may follow.
Michigan State (7-5): Redbox Bowl, Santa Clara CA, Monday, December 31, 3:00pm vs. Oregon
The Spartans are headed to California for the second straight year, after playing in last year's Holiday Bowl. Oregon, their opponent, also finished at 7-5 and both teams will be looking for a win to brighten up less than stellar 2018 showings.
Western Michigan (7-5): Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, Boise ID, Friday December 21, 2pm vs. Brigham Young
The Broncos will try and improve on their lackluster 1-7 bowl record with a trip to the mountains to take on storied program BYU, who finished at 6-6. The two schools have played each other before, but not since 1970.
Eastern Michigan (7-5): Camellia Bowl, Montgomery AL, Saturday, December 15, 5:30pm vs. Georgia Southern.
The Eagles are going to their second bowl game in three years following a long drought. They'll take on Georgia Southern, who finished the regular season at 9-3. EMU has a pair of quality wins, having beaten Big 10 Purdue on the road, and MAC East champion Buffalo.
