One of those TikTok trends has killed several people in Alabama and could affect young people here.

If you have not heard of boat jumping, it is when someone jumps off the back of a speed boat.

The dangers that come with the boat jumping trend is that the person who jumps, if they land wrong, their neck could break and they could either be paralyzed or suffer death instantly.

According to The Today Show, as of Monday, there have been four deaths that have happened because of this TikTok trend.

Captain Dennis of the Childersburg Rescue Squad said that the victims

"were doing a TikTok challenge. It's where you get in a boat going at a high rate of speed, you jump off the side of the boat, don't dive, you're jumping off feet first and you just kinda lean into the water."

The issue is that the pattern of this TikTok trend is not slowing down.

"That is a very big concern because we have seen this pattern emerge over the last two years and it's sporadic, but it's something that needs to go away and stay away."
