Grand Rapids is getting mythological this fall as "Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids" comes to town!

The Grand Rapids Public Museum has announced a new exhibit titled "Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids" will open on November 11!

The exhibit is organized by the American Museum of Natural History in New York. It traces the natural and cultural roots of dragons, unicorns and mermaids.

If you think Game of Thrones is a documentary you'll find plenty to fuel your fire at this exhibit.

There will be replicas of preserved specimens as well as cast fossils of prehistoric animals. You'll learn how they could have, through misidentification, speculation, and fear, inspired centuries of imagination...or maybe you'll be convinced it's all real after all.

There will be many hands-on opportunities including a chance to build your own dragon on a touch-screen.

Admission to "Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids" will be $12 for adults, $7 for children, $9 for Kent County resident adults, $4 for Kent County resident children, and $2 for all Museum members. Tickets include general admission.

The exhibit will be on the third floor and run from November 11, 2017 to May 20, 2018.
