A farm in California has been identified as the source of that Quarter Pounder E. coli outbreak. McDonald’s says that this farm is where they grew onions for the burgers.

As of now, there have been at least 49 people, ranging from Oregon to Wisconsin, who have gotten terribly sick eating those Quarter Pounders, which are now off the menu in 10 states.

For many Michigan families, a quick trip to McDonald's can save hours of cooking behind a hot stove.

However, there is a massive nationwide alert that affects a particular menu item at McDonald's.

So, before you make your trip to the fast food giant, here is what you need to know about this CDC warning.

CDC McDonald's Warning

McDonald's has been affected by multiple strings of reports that state that there is a possible E.coli contamination.

At the time of publication, it is not known which specific ingredient of the Quarter Pounder is contaminated.

As of now, McDonald's locations across Colorado, Kansas, Utah, Wyoming, and portions of Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, and Oklahoma have temporarily stopped using the onions and patties.

While Michigan locations have not stopped using these ingredients, all Michigan residents should be on high alert when visiting any Michigan McDonald's locations.

As far as the symptoms, the CDC says that anyone who has come into contact with E.coli will "experience severe stomach cramps, diarrhea (often bloody), and vomiting."

If you are experiencing any E.coli related symptoms, the CDC is asking you to call your healthcare provider.
