What Popular Grand Rapids Coffeeshop Is Closing?

Sadly, Rising Grinds Cafe has announced its closure on its social media platforms.

In the post from the general manager, Destiny, she shares what Rising Grinds Cafe has strived to do over the past 10 years.

Over the last 10 years Rising Grinds Cafe has strived to be a place that at its core represents our community, the grit and grind, passion, creativity, vibrancy, talent, swag, and authenticity. A place each person could show up and find a sense of safety & belonging.

I will have to admit that they succeeded in their mission.

Why Is Rising Grinds Cafe in Grand Rapids Closing?

The post continues by explaining the reasoning behind the closure.

It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of Rising Grinds Cafe. As we have taken time to analyze the business, the restraints of space along with the increased cost to operations, we have concluded that it is no longer economically sustainable to continue to operate Rising Grinds Cafe in the current capacity.

Reading that on Instagram broke my heart. I know that it was a sad moment for others, as well.

However, this may not be the end of the Rising Grinds Cafe story.

Despite today's announcement and the closing of this chapter, we are extremely proud of all that we have achieved and remain hopeful for a future where Rising Grinds' doors will be open again.

I highly recommend visiting Rising Grinds Cafe before its last day on Friday, March 29th at 1167 Madison Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507.
