What Michigan CVS Pharmacy Locations Are Closing?

CVS Pharmacy announced the closure of two Michigan locations during the first week of March, including one in Grand Rapids.

The Grand Rapids store at 1155 Fuller Avenue NE will close its doors on March 6th, 2025, while the Redford location at 25700 West 7 Mile Road will close a day earlier, on March 5th, 2025.

According to a company spokesperson, this decision was not made lightly.

What you do if these locations were your primary CVS Pharmacy?

Prescriptions from the Grand Rapids store on Fuller Avenue NE will be transferred to the CVS Pharmacy located at 1550 Lake Drive SE, roughly 2.5 miles away. So, you will not have to go too far to get to your new location.

Similarly, prescriptions from the Redford location will move to the CVS at 19120 Middlebelt Road in Livonia, about 2.5 miles from the closing store.

However, although these are the recommended new locations, you are not restricted to these suggested locations and can choose to fill your prescriptions at any CVS Pharmacy or another pharmacy of your preference.

CVS reassured employees at the affected locations that they were being offered comparable roles within the company.

The closures come at a time when Michigan has seen significant changes in pharmacy availability, including the loss of all Rite Aid locations. Despite these closures, CVS continues to operate more than 235 stores across Michigan, including those located inside Target stores.
