Grand Rapids Public Schools has announced that they will be requiring masks for all students, faculty and staff.

According to a release from the school system, they will be requiring that masks be worn by all PK-12 students, staff and visitors when they are indoors regardless of their vaccination status.

Exceptions will be made for students and staff with medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a mask.

The new mask mandate for GRPS will being on August 17, 2022. The school system will revisit the requirement "on or before September 20, 2021." They say that they will continue working with health officials in Kent County to determine if the mask requirement should be extended.
