GRPD Welcomed 18 New Recruits To The Police Department This Week

GRPD welcomed 18 new officers to the ranks Thursday afternoon,  according to their facebook post.

As the post reads, the 18 officers were from two recruiting classes, and include officers fresh out of the academy as well as a few officers who transferred in from other agencies across the country.

This group of new officers also had some interesting recruits as the Facebook post says,

Among the department's newest members are two former minor league baseball players, the daughter of a retired GRPD Detective, and the wife of a former officer.

The officers were sworn in by the Honorable Judge Jennifer Faber of the 61st District Court. Big congrats to all the new recruits, keep us safe and make us proud!
