The Lions will play in front of hometown fans in what is expected to be and opening weekend sellout when they take on the 49ers on September 12th. the stadium was not open to the public for the 2020 season due to the pandemic.

Tickets for the 2021 season may be some of the most sought after in Lions history, as demand is expected to be high among not only hardcore football fans, but casual fans who've been unable to experience any live events over the past 15 months. So how can you get your tickets?

Single-game tickets for 2021 Detroit Lions regular-season games at Ford Field will go on sale Wednesday, July 28 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at www.detroitlions.com/tickets. All single-game tickets will be delivered digitally via Ticketmaster. As of the 2020 season, it is a completely mobile and cashless Gameday.

Detroit Lions Team President and CEO Rod Wood had this to say about fans returning in a media release:

We have long awaited the moment where we can officially declare we will have 65,000 fans at Ford Field this fall. We've worked diligently with the NFL, as well looked to federal, state and local guidelines to monitor what's best for our team, staff and fans. We're thrilled to be at this point and to welcome One Pride back into the stadium. I can't say it enough, it hasn't been the same without them.

One of the major considerations for the team in deciding to open the stadium to a full crowd is the steady vaccination rate in Michigan. While the team will not require proof of vaccinations, unvaccinated guests are still recommended to wear masks when inside the stadium.
