In the Housing Market? Grand Rapids Parade of Homes Begins Today!
Whether you are looking for a new home, thinking of remodeling, or just "kicking the tires" so to speak, now is your chance to find out what's out there in the housing market. The annual Grand Rapids Parade of Homes begins today and runs for the next nine days.
The Parade consists of several dozen homes, both new and remodeled, in all price ranges, sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids.
Fox17 reports you'll find homes throughout the greater Grand Rapids and Lake Shore area, Ada, Grand Rapids, Kentwood, Wyoming, Grandville, Byron Center, Sparta, Middleville, Hudsonville, Saugatuck, West Olive, Grand Haven and more.
One example is this Sable Home in Lowell.
Tickets are only $15, with children12 and under free, and can be bought at Lake Michigan Credit Union locations, and typically at home sites.
The HBA of Grand Rapids does ask that you are considerate when visiting the open homes.
Don't forget: You are in someone else's neighborhood when you tour. Be sure to honor the no-parking areas and do not block driveways or drive on lawns. Try to leave at least two car widths for passing traffic.
Taking Pictures & Measurements: Some builders are flattered if you take photos or measurements. Others would prefer that you refrain from taking photos. Please ask permission before you begin. Be sensitive to other people visiting the home at the same time by not obstructing their view.
Shoe Cover Policy: Please note, most homes require protective shoe covers over socks, not bare feet; provided by homes on the tour. You are welcome to take a new pair from your first home visit, and keep for use at each home on the tour.
Comments About the Home: Homeowners may be on site, so please refrain from making comments. Keep your observations positive while in the homes.
