Who says you can't make money playing video games? The Fortnite World Cup just made the largest payout in esports history.

According to FOX 17, Fortnite just held its first World Cup Tournament in New York's Arthur Ashe tennis stadium. Players from all over the world competed in an all male playing field.

Many famous players were competing but that didn't matter to 16-year-old Kyle 'Bugha' Giersdorf who dominated throughout the tournament and eventually took home the $3 million prize.

Giersdorf came out guns a blazing with nine in game kills in the first round and dozens of kills in the following rounds.

Giersdorf said, "Words can't really explain it. I'm so happy. Everything I've done in the grind has all paid off and it's just insane."

Giersdorf is now a social media sensation, his YouTube and Twitter have shot through the roof. He has also signed a deal with Sentinels which is an esports group out of Los Angeles.

It looks like this was a pretty cool competition with everyone at least taking home $50,000, even if you were in last place. This is the biggest esports tournament and Epic Games say there are more events that happen later in the year. So you better brush up on your Fortnite skills.
