Lowest Number Of New COVID-19 Cases In 11 Days For Kent Co. Sat

This week has been a tough week for Kent County with high numbers of new cases each day of COVID-19. That is until Saturday, when the county recorded the lowest number of new cases since April 14th, according to MLive.

Saturday, Kent Co Health Department officials reported 23 new cases, which was a huge decline from the 91 new cases announced on Friday or the worst day of last week which was Wednesday, when the county saw 131 new COVID-19 cases, MLive reports.

MLive says that according to Kent County Health officials, 81% of the positive cases for COVID-19 in the county are in urban areas, such as Grand Rapids, Walker, Kentwood, Wyoming, and Grandville.

Saturday's totals from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services added 563 new cases bringing the state to 37203 confirmed cases of COVID-19. As of Saturday at 3 pm, 3,274 people have died in Michigan due to the virus.
