Several states have reported an increase in calls to poison control since Trump's remarks on Thursday about disinfectants killing the novel coronavirus.  Some of the states that have since reported an increase in calls are Michigan, Maryland, New York, and Kentucky.

In a time when many people are frightened and unsure what to do if they start experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, it's not surprising that some people might take what the President of the United States says literally.

Governor Whitmer, along with her Republican colleague Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, reported to George Stephanopoulos on ABC's This Week that their states had seen an increase in calls to poison control.

Governor Whitmer continues to warn against anyone injecting or ingesting disinfectant as a way to cure COVID-19.
