You May Feel Inflation When You Get Your Michigan Summer Tax Bill
No one likes getting their property tax bills in the mail, if you own your home you may be surprised at your 2022 summer tax bill.
Property Taxes
I don't know about you but there is one bill that I hate more than any other bill that I get and that is my property tax bills. It's like I am being penalized for doing ok for myself and we don't have any say on how our local governments and the state stick it to us.
Could it be worse? Yes, Michigan is ranked 38th in the United States for taxes so there are 37 more states that have it worse than you, and I do but it still sucks. I mean, the state and my local government do no upkeep on my house or my land so no matter how big or small my house is or how much property I have they pick a number and I'm stuck with it when all they do is take care of the road in front of my house, that's it. Every other service I pay for.
Inflation May Hit Michigan Summer Tax Bill
It seems everyone is getting in the gouge and inflation game and now the state of Michigan is going to participate in making life harder for homeowners by raising summer tax bills for Michiganders.
Surprise if you bought a new house this year and were told the taxes would be one thing and when you get your bill is much higher than anticipated. Some in Michigan are already seeing a $3000 increase in property taxes.
I just don't understand how the state can do this. They spend no money maintaining an individual's property. At a time most Michiganders are struggling the state hits people with higher property taxes. This is unacceptable.
Some homeowners may not see an increase but there's always next year.
According to FOX 17, the Inflation Rate Multiplier was capped at 3.3% but this could increase to 5% next year.
There is nothing this state is doing to merit this increase other than jumping on the gouging game as the rest of the corporations have been doing to us.
