If you're in West Michigan, but not necessarily in Grand Rapids, there are now more locations where you can go to get a COVID-19 test as Rite Aid has announced that starting Friday, February 12th, they're expanding their no-cost COVID-19 testing locations to all drive-thru locations, which WZZM says adds 10 new locations for testing in West Michigan.

Technically Rite Aid is rolling out the expanded testing sites in a few different states as their partnership to host the COVID-19 testing locations is because of their partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  The Rite Aid testing locations use PCR, self-swab nasal test, that you do in front of the pharmacist on duty. I like the fact that it's self-swab, especially if you get a nurse who's distracted or wasn't fond of your last joke...

And yes, as long as the person needing to be tested is at least four years old, you can get the nasal swab test - even if you're experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, as per the CDC guidelines on testing.

If you do end up needing to take advantage of the free COVID testing at Rite Aid, you do need to sign up and reserve a testing time for yourself at riteaid.com. You can get your cOVID-19 test done Monday through Friday from 10 am to 8 pm, and Saturday and Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm.
