New Law Could Ban Drivers Under 18 From Using Cellphones In Michigan
The Michigan House of Representatives passed a measure that would ban the use of cellphones for drivers who are under the age of 18. The measure passed in the house 87-21 and will move on to the Senate for a vote in early January 2020.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer supports the measure and has urged the Michigan Senate to pass the new law. The Governor has also advocated in making Michigan a 'hands-free' state that would only allow cell phones to be used in the car when 'hands-free' technology is in use.
When the Michigan Senate returns from their holiday recess in January, they are expected to pass the measure banning cellphones for drivers under 18. What do you think? Should drivers under 18 be banned from using cellphones?
