There’s a new taco place opening on Thursday so OBVIOUSLY, Rob and I had to try it out for ourselves before the official grand opening.

Stan Diego, located in the Standale neighborhood, is bringing a new flavor to West Michigan. With so many different options when it comes to tacos (and Mexican restaurants in general) what makes this one stand out? Executive Chef Luke says the Baja-inspired menu focuses on the ingredients and the freshness of those ingredients and how they come together in a way that will leave you feeling the perfect amount of full as opposed to the “I’m so stuffed I can’t move” feeling.

Everything on the menu is fresh, homemade and locally-sourced and Chef Luke was nice enough to cook us some of those foods you’ll find on the menu. This included in-house guacamole and salsas, al pastor, chicken and carne asada tacos that each took on a flavor of their own, and churros for dessert. Oh yea, and THE BEST MARGARITA EVER! No joke, if “fresh” was a flavor it’s that margarita. It’s so good it’s dangerous.

Not only is the food great but so is the vibe of the place! Stan Diego is where the former Crooked Goose used to be & the current space will transport you to the beach on a sunny day… cuz who says you can't eat tacos on the beach?!

Stan Diego is at 355 Wilson Ave. NW, Walker and is open to the public Thursday, April 26th from 4p-11p. After the 30th, the hours are as following:

Su - Wed: 11a-10p
Th - Sat: 11a-11p
