Can You Wear Political Apparel While Voting In Michigan?
The simple answer is...NO! You cannot wear any election-related or campaign-related clothing when you going to vote in Michigan.
It can be considered a misdemeanor!
In fact, Michigan law will not allow you to do the following things within 100 feet of any polling location:
- Campaign for any candidates or ballot measure
- Wear or bring any election-related or campaign-related clothes or accessories
- Display or wear candidate or election-related signs
- Bring any election, campaign, or partisan materials or signs into the polling location
- Request signatures for or sign any petitions
So, leave your Kamala Harris and MAGA gear at home before you head over to the polls.
Other Michigan Voting Rules
You cannot bring your firearms within 100 feet of a polling location, according to House Bill 4127.
If you are caught campaigning in or near a polling location, you will need to pay $100 if it is your first offense. As for those caught with subsequent offenses, you will need to pay $250.
