Meijer is the new Santa Claus.

Yesterday, the retailer announced in a news release that they have added thousands of general merchandise items to its delivery service that they do with Shipt. So in addition to having groceries delivered to your door, you can now do your holiday shopping without having to leave your house and fighting with someone over the last Hatchimal.

Electronics and Christmas decorations (trees, etc) are also included in the general merchandise category that people can order. Deliveries will be available 24 hours, just like Meijer stores.

Meijer's President & CEO said in a statement:

We’ve had tremendous success delivering groceries to our customers across the Midwest, so we are very pleased to offer them the convenience of having their holiday gifts delivered to their doorstep as well.

By the end of the year, Meijer is expected to have already made a million deliveries since beginning its service with Shipt. It launched in Detroit last September and has since expanded to more than 200 stores.

Will you use Meijer's home-delivery service to do your shopping this holiday season?
