Slick Rick’s “Children’s Story” Gets Turned Into Kid’s Book
Slick Rick has been labeled one of the greatest story tellers rap has ever seen. Now, his iconic song “Children’s Story” which was released in 1988 is being transformed into a book for kids.
Get On Down is releasing the 18-page book along with a special reissue of Rick's debut album The Great Adventures of Slick Rick from his 1988 album. The book will have pictures and detailed illustrations from Slick Rick’s most memorable tale. Along with the release of the book comes a 12” piece of artwork from the original “Children’s Story” video. The book as well as the poster and CD will be available for purchase on April 22 for Record Store Day.
2016 was a huge year for Slick Rick. Not only did he finally become a U.S. citizen early last year but in an interview with The Guardian, he put some news out there that he may be releasing a new album. Hopefully we get to hear the album soon.
Record Store Day is about to give fans a ton of goodies to cop, including a limited edition purple vinyl of a certain Lil Uzi Vert mixtape.
