What Is The Recall That Will Affect Michiganders Summer?

Suntegrity Skincare announced a voluntary recall of nine lots of Suntergrity Impeccable Skin Sunscreen Foundation (Multiple Shades).

Do you use this sunscreen? If so, you are most likely wondering what is going on and why is this recall active.

The company launched this recall after recent tests showed a higher-than-acceptable count of the mold species Aspergillus Sydowii in some tubes of Lot 115BU. The mold developed post-release and over time in the test.

What is Aspergillus Sydowii?

If a topical product is contaminated with Aspergillus Sydowii, it could lead to an allergic skin reaction and other related symptoms.

It could also cause a fungal skin infection if the product is used on any open wounds or sunburned skin.

As of now, there are no issues or reports that have been received by the time of the recall announcement.

What Products Are Affecting By This Recall?

FDA shared that out of caution, "the company has decided to voluntarily recall these additional lots: 107IV, 107NU, 109NU, 117BU, 113SA, 114SA, 106BR, and 101MO even though all original and recent test results received have come back clear."

If you have purchased this sunscreen from the company directory or Amazon, you must email ImpeccableSkinRecall@SuntegritySkincare.com with your order number, product lot number, and name so your purchase can be verified. Once you have your confirmation, you will need to show proof of disposal so you can get a refund, store credit, or product exchange.
