A new Grand Rapids-based app will take pick up your cans and bottles and return them for you. You'll get a portion of the deposit, or you can choose to donate it to a local charity.

Don't want to bother with taking back cans and bottles? These West Michigan groups are accepting returnable donations.

Meijer, along with plenty of other retailers across the state, will be accepting bottle and can returns starting Monday. Meijer has set a limit though starting out.

The shelter received as many donations in one hour, as they thought they'd get the entire fundraiser.
